 Ms. Hill has a  B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Sociology and Communications from Cleveland State University. Ms. Hill has taken graduate level courses in Special Education at Northern Illinois University. Ms. Hill’s previous work experiences included: Coordinator for several Academic Performance Coaching’s on-school  site after-school programs for schools in the the Cleveland School District, managed The Plain Dealer’s Newspaper in Education Department for approximately ten years, Handicap and mental health monitor for all of the HeadStart Programs in Cuyahoga County and a Teacher-therapist at self-contained school in Chicago, Illinois. In addition to her work at Virtual Schoolhouse, Michelle is a community health advisor and a community researcher working with MetroHealth Center for Health Disparities. She has been active at various community health advising activities and is currently, serving on the Community Advisor Health Committee for the Greater Cleveland area. Michelle’s non-professional interests and passions include nutritional knowledge and information, holistic health, energy work, environment awareness, natural lifestyle, sewing, thrifting, sewing, and cultural-based education.

 Ms. Monske has a BA in Psychology and Sociology from Kent State University. Prior to working at Virtual Schoolhouse she has been Sub Teacher for Elyria and Lorain and a server and Certified Trainer Olive Garden Restaurant. In addition to school, Ms. Monske is involved in community work for the city of Loraine and the Special Olympics. Ms. Monske is a new mom, vegetarian and enjoys Zumba. She tries to bring her students laughter and excitement about learning new things and get out of their comfort zones.

mr. Joshua Mendelson

4-8 Math Specialist

Mr. Mendelson has a Masters in Education in Early Childhood Education from Ohio State University. Mr. Mendelson has previously worked for Shaker Heights City Schools as a Co-Teacher/Tutor. Mr. Mendelson has a  vast array of interests and enjoys the connections he makes with his students.

MR. John Scarniench

4-6 Intervention Specialist

 Mr. Scarniench has a Masters in Education from Cleveland State University. Concurrently to his work at Virtual Schoolhouse, Mr. Scarniench works for Brighter Horizons Residential Services as Direct Care Staff. Mr. Scarniench passions include writing inspirational quotes, musical theater, camping/outdoors, sports, and volunteerism.

  Ms. Starman has a Masters in Education Administration from Cleveland State University. Ms. Starman previously worked as a pullout teacher in a private Catholic school. Ms. Starman enjoys volunteering at a nursing home and crafting.

MS. Susan Richter

Middle School Math Intervention Specialist

  Ms. Richter received her Associates Degree in Early Childhood from Cuyahoga Community College, Bachelors of Science in Business from David Myers and her Master’s Degree in Education and Special Education from Cleveland State University. Ms. Richter’s prior work experience includes working for Art’s Academy in Lorain and infused intervention services into the classroom. Ms. Richter helps her community through her volunteer work at Redcoat Playhouse Square and Youth Divinity Lutheran Church. Her passions include camping, crafts-sewing on plastic canvas and Country Line Dancing.
