6th Grade news at Virtual Schoolhouse

6th grade science students enjoyed making models of molecules using gumdrops and toothpicks. Also, they enjoyed eating their models! In addition to studying chemical and physical properties of matter, students employ the scientific method to conduct experiments and have learned much about Earth’s rocks and minerals.

6th grade mathematics students have been working very hard toward mastery of operations with integers and number lines, rounding and estimating, fractions, order of operations, pre-algebra, and graphical data analysis. Students practice basic math facts regularly and enjoy participating in numerous math-oriented learning games.
