Kindergarten news at Virtual Schoolhouse

May 2008

I would like to say Happy Mother’s Day to all of my parents!

This month is going to be full of fun things to do. The kindergarten students are going to be busy practicing and getting ready for the Mothers Day performance on May 9, 2008. The children will be putting on a great show and giving you something very special to say thanks!

The elementary is planning on going to the zoo on May 5, 2008, so please look for the note and permission slip.

The themes for this month are Mother’s day, zoo animals, and flowers.

May 9, 2008 progress reports will be going out, so look for the news! This is our last full month of school and the year will be over! Kindergarten is going to be very busy getting ready for our graduation celebration in June.

Please don’t forget that we do not have school on May 26, 2008, and remember to bring in your white t-shirts to paint for our field day!

I hope you are all having a wonderful SPRING!

Thanks,

Mrs. Krausher

February 2008

I just wanted to write and give an update on what we have been busy doing. Last week we went to the zoo, it was very cold but we had fun seeing all the rainforest animals. Our program went off without a hitch and our peanut butter headbands were a hit! Thanks to all the parents who came to observe our hard work! We are looking forward to spring coming and are going to be doing some spring activities

In language arts we have finished our vowels and are moving on to trick words and small sentences. The class will be spending several weeks on this unit and will be bringing home work more frequently to learn words, sounds, and sentences. I cannot wait to read! The kids have been placed into small groups and will begin to read short stories out loud. We have started a reading caterpillar and she waits for us to read books and place cards on her of what we have read, please check it out she is by our door!

In math we are working on line graphs and increasing and decreasing the number of objects. Please continue to work on the children’s numbers at home.

The month of March we will be working on the following themes, St. Patrick’s Day, sky and moon, weather (spring), and farm animals.

We have parent teacher conferences coming up the week of March 24th so please look for a note and call to schedule a time.. Our days off are, the 21st and the 28th HAPPY EASTER!

If you have any questions or concerns please call me at Ext: 245.

Thanks,

Mrs. Krausher
