Pre-Employment Requirements
Below is a pre-employment list of required documents/requirement that must be completed/submitted if you are selected as an applicant under final consideration for hire with the Virtual Schoolhouse, Inc.
At your scheduled appointment you must bring the following items:
- Valid Driver’s License or State I.D. (with a picture) or Valid Passport
- Social Security Card or Birth Certificate
- Official Transcripts from all colleges and universities showing confirmation of the degree(s) and all additional hours earned.
- National Teacher Education Exam (NTE) Scores, if applicable.
- Written Verification of Previous Teaching Experience or copy of Honorable Discharge from Military (DD214 Form), if applicable.
- Copy of Valid Ohio certificate/license or
- Complete an application for Ohio certificate/license. Must bring a check or money payable to Ohio TEC for $12.00. No cash accepted.
- Complete Staff Demographic form
You are expected to complete the following requirements when completing pre-employment paperwork:
- Schedule Pre-Employment Drug Screen and Tuberculosis Test.. All costs will be the responsibility of the candidate and must be paid at the time of the exam. Additional charges may apply. If you have had a TB test done within the last 12 months, you may bring proof of a negative reading rather than resubmitting to another TB test.

- Conduct a criminal background check at the applicant’s expense (cash):
- $30.00* Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) check – Senate Bill 38 Compliance
- $60.00* Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and BCI checks– House Bill 190 Compliance
